According to the Decision of the Government and legal documents of the Ministry of Construction, unburnt bricks are divided into the following main product groups:
- Aggregate cement bricks or commonly known as Block bricks: account for about 75% of total unburnt bricks.
- Autoclaved aerated concrete bricks: accounting for 15%
- Foam concrete bricks (light bricks): accounting for 5%
- Other bricks (latite, petrified soil...): accounting for 5%.
In Vietnam today, block bricks, also known as aggregate cement bricks, are manufactured from 2 main materials:
- Sandstone is the main raw material (over 85%) for the production of block bricks, also known as aggregate cement bricks, found in many regions of Vietnam, especially in provinces with quarries. Large construction stone waterfall.
- Fly ash / coal slag (by-product from thermal power plants) is also partly used to produce block bricks. This material has a very large reserve and is increasing due to the new investment of thermal power plants.
Classification of blocks
Currently, block bricks have many types. However, according to the main function, this type of brick is divided into 3 lines: block bricks for wall construction, floor tiles and decorative bricks.
Brick blocks for building walls
Brick wall building block is also known as concrete block brick or cement block brick. This type of brick has a design quite similar to traditional brick. But because it does not undergo heating, the brick has a characteristic gray color of concrete.
